ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 6: It was disclosed on Monday that Pakistan Post has halted package reservations to the US for a month, causing substantial losses totaling hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Aside from e-commerce orders, the Pakistan Post’s booking suspension also affected online orders.
This development has affected the country’s earnings in addition to halting the sale of Pakistani goods in the US.
The Pakistan Post’s sources said that the booking halt was caused by American shipping companies not receiving their due reimbursement.

The utility blamed insufficient parcel wrapping for the stoppage. The Directorate General of Pakistan Post’s inquiry report identified a number of problems, such as incomplete or missing Electronic Advanced Data (EAD) and improper letter mail classification, that contributed to the return of mail from the US.

According to the report, USPS was rejecting tiny, registered letters that were being sent to the US either without creating any ITMATT messages or with incomplete or erroneous ITMATT messages.

The directorate further stated that booking employees filled out required fields with false information.
The government has been pushed by small company owners and online retailers to resolve the matter and guarantee that Pakistan Post may once again deliver items to the United States.
Bookings for packages and mail to the UK and other nations are still being processed in the interim.
