Islamabad, Nov 24: Pakistan Railways has suspended all train operations between Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Peshawar as heightened tensions grip the federal capital due to planned protests by a major political party.

Train services from Multan and Faisalabad to Rawalpindi have also been halted immediately, and all 25 scheduled bookings for Sunday, November 24, have been canceled.

Passengers can receive refunds at temporary booking counters established at sealed railway stations, which are now under heavy police security and limited public access.

The suspension of services was driven by security concerns linked to today’s protests in Islamabad, where entry and exit points have been blocked using commercial containers.

Additionally, mobile internet services have been disrupted in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, with partial outages reported in nearby cities. However, mobile networks remain functional.
