Islamabad, Nov 9: Pakistan Teachers Forum Hosts Annual Event ‘Empowering Educators, Shaping the Future’ to Strengthen Education Sector. The Pakistan Teachers Forum (PTF) organized its yearly gathering on Friday evening, centered around the theme “Empowering Educators, Shaping the Future,” emphasizing the vital importance of teachers in influencing the future of Pakistan.
The event was attended by the Chief Guest, Federal Secretary of Education, Muhammad Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, and Special Guest, Chairperson of the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PIERA), Dr. Zia Batool.
In his speech, Federal Secretary Muhammad Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani stressed the significance of a collaborative effort, calling for private sector engagement to address educational challenges, particularly for children who are out of school. He affirmed the government’s dedication to inclusive education and commended PTF’s initiatives that reflect national educational objectives.
The event began with Atif Abbas, Central General Secretary of the Pakistan Teachers Forum, delivering the Annual Report for 2023-24.The report showcased PTF’s achievements, milestones, and the commitment of educators across the nation to foster inclusive and high-quality learning environments.
Senator Fawzia Arshad, Chairperson of the Pakistan Teachers Forum, introduced a forward-thinking Education Policy aimed at meeting the changing demands of Pakistan’s education sector.Senator Arshad pointed out that the policy prioritizes professional development for teachers, the incorporation of modern teaching methods, and resources for underprivileged areas.
Chairperson Dr. Zia Batool of PIERA launched the Education and Vocational Program (EVP), an important initiative focused on reintegrating out-of-school children into mainstream education.This program aims to fill a longstanding gap and offers meaningful support for communities in need.
SI-UK reaffirmed its dedication to PTF’s mission, with Saad committing to ongoing assistance for educational progress throughout Pakistan.Likewise, Bilal Aziz from JICA supported this view, advocating for continued collaboration with non-formal education initiatives.The Pakistan Teachers Forum’s Annual Event reinforced the necessity of a united public-private framework to bridge educational inequalities.
Together, the forum, private sector partners, and government representatives vowed to diligently work towards empowering educators, ensuring that quality education is provided to every child in Pakistan.
