Islamabad, Feb 22: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar met with his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi to strengthen the deep-rooted ties between Pakistan and the UAE. The high-level discussion covered various aspects of bilateral cooperation, focusing on trade, investment, energy, defense, and cultural exchanges.
During the meeting, held at the invitation of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding collaboration in key sectors. They emphasized the importance of fostering economic partnerships and enhancing people-to-people ties. A statement issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office highlighted that the discussions aimed to pave the way for new opportunities that would benefit both nations.
Senator Ishaq Dar commended the UAE on the successful hosting of the World Governments Summit 2025, held from February 11-13 in Dubai. He praised the country’s leadership for its forward-thinking initiatives that encourage global dialogue and cooperation. He also reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to deepening its strategic partnership with the UAE, acknowledging the critical role played by the Pakistani expatriate community in strengthening bilateral relations.
Expressing appreciation for the UAE’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s economic development, Senator Dar conveyed gratitude for the Gulf nation’s continued assistance in fostering growth and stability.
