Islamabad, April 8, 2025 – Lahore is ready to welcome another international cricket action as the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers kick off at Gaddafi Stadium on April 9.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced free entry for all matches, aiming to attract large crowds and create an electrifying atmosphere during the match.

A total of eight matches will be played at the iconic venue in Lahore, featuring top teams vying for a coveted spot in the upcoming much-awaited Women’s World Cup.

The tournament opens with a highly anticipated clash between Pakistan and Ireland setting the stage for a series of exciting contests.

Other team including West Indies, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Scotland will also play their qualifier games in Pakistan  throughout the month.

The PCB’s decision to offer complimentary access has been met with appreciation from both players and fans. Members of Pakistan’s women’s team are urging the public to show their support by attending in large numbers.

Wicketkeeper-batter Najiha Alvi emphasized the team’s preparation and determination to qualify for the World Cup, calling fan support crucial.

“We’ve worked hard, and the crowd’s energy can really boost us,” she said.

Veteran player Sidra Nawaz welcomed the PCB’s initiative, calling it a “great move” to promote women’s cricket. She encouraged families to come to the stadium and cheer on the national side.

Spinner Sadia Iqbal also highlighted the pride of hosting such an international event on home soil, saying fan presence will make the tournament even more special for the players.

As Lahore becomes the center of women’s cricket this April, the qualifiers promise top-tier competition and a unique chance for cricket lovers to witness the rising stars of Pakistan and beyond in action — all at no cost.
