Islamabad, Nov 4: Pakistani Passport Worst in the World for Global Travel Freedom

Pakistan’s passport continues to rank among the lowest in the world, below countries affected by conflict like Palestine, according to the most recent Henley Passport Index.

Pakistan’s stringent visa requirements, security worries, and weakened diplomatic ties are all blamed for the country’s low ranking, which stands at 102 at the moment. These factors all impede its inhabitants’ access to the world.

Only 33 countries grant visa-free entrance to holders of the Pakistani passport; the only ones that fall short are Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan. The green passport has been among the lowest for nearly five years, trailing countries like Haiti, Chad, Somalia, Sudan, and Liberia.

Singapore, on the other hand, is at the top of the index, allowing its citizens to enter 195 out of 227 countries without a visa. With access to 192 places, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain are tied for second place.

The Henley Passport Index illustrates how diplomatic power affects travel access and is based on information from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and research by Henley & Partners.

These rankings are examined in the recently published Global Mobility Report 2024, which reveals a growing disparity in travel freedom between areas.
