Islamabad, Sep 14: The Pakistani-American community in Houston, Texas, has come together in support of a female Pakistani student who was seriously hurt in a hit-and-run accident and is currently receiving intense medical care at a hospital.
On September 7, Dania Zaheer, 25, was crossing the street in front of a Houston mall when a man driving a car struck her and took off.He’s still nowhere to be located.While being interviewed by a television reporter, Dania seemed bruised and talked via an oxygen mask. She stated, “I have fluid in my lungs, which makes it hard to breathe, and I have fractures in my skull, arm, femur, and hip.”
A few months prior, Dania had moved from Karachi to Houston to pursue her master’s degree in business administration, leaving her family behind. Thankfully, some neighborhood organizations are stepping in to support her, since she mentioned she had assumed she would have to handle her recuperation alone.
Salman Razzaqi, president of the Pakistani Association of Greater Houston, visited her and stated, “It was very painful to see somebody who is about the same age as my daughter laid up and crying like that and in pain.”
Officials claimed they still don’t know who struck Ms. Zaheer. Although they have a witness who was present when it happened, he was unable to describe the suspect. Investigators are still searching for footage, but as of ABC13′-TV’s most recent call, they have not discovered any. She was injured in the collision in many different ways.
Following his viewing of Ms. Zaheer’s interview on ABC13 on Thursday, Razzaqi organized local leaders and even had Pakistan’s Consul General, Aftab Chaudhry, pay her a visit. “I believe she is returning to her usual self. She observed our reaction, our assistance, our support, and our consoling words,” Razzaqi remarked. “We want to help her get back on her feet, return to school, earn her degree, and realize her American dream.”
Houston entrepreneur Ali Sheikhani is one of the individuals that is currently in Ms. Zaheer’s corner. He said that via an organization he founded in honor of his late mother, He intends to do every effort to support Ms. Zaheer.
I pleaded with her to pay attention to her health. Be at ease with the finances. We’ll handle the (financials). We’ll pay for her school expenses and have a conversation with her parents. The CEO of Sheikhani Group Inc., Sheikhani, declared, “We will take care of everything.”
She didn’t know how she would make it through her recuperation when she talked from the hospital. “I’m by myself here. Nobody is here, not even someone to look after me. After leaving the hospital, I’m not even sure who will be there,” Ms. Zaheer remarked.
A moving plan has emerged to arrange for Ms. Zaheer’s parents to be flown to Houston.”We’ll speak with our lawyer and work to secure a visa for them as soon as possible,” Sheikhani stated.Even though she is still quite weak, Ms. Zaheer told ABC13 that she appreciates all of the help. She requests privacy and that people entrust this to reputable institutions. “We’ll exert every effort to see that she gets through this. Razzaqi remarked, “I think she’ll be back to normal in no time.”
