Islamabad, Sep 3: Pakistanis living in the UAE are urged to benefit from the government’s amnesty program, which allows them to legitimize their status.

Pakistani embassies in the United Arab Emirates declared their complete backing for this endeavor, hoping to see as many individuals as possible take use of it. Amnesty is being offered by the UAE government from September 1 to October 31, 2024. In response, Pakistani nationals in the UAE are receiving all the support they need from the Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Pakistani Consulate General in Dubai to make sure they can fully take advantage of this opportunity, the missions announced on Monday.

Until the end of October 2024, the Pakistani embassy and consulate will be available on Saturdays to help with the procedure. Applicants can use this time to confirm, update, or renew their documentation.

There will be consular services accessible, such as passport issue and renewal as well as attestation services. Furthermore, in order to facilitate the return of Pakistani nationals without passports, the outpass sections will issue outpasses or emergency travel permits.

The missions stressed in their statement that “the Embassy and Consulate General of Pakistan are fully committed to supporting the Pakistani community during this period.”
With about 1.7 million residents, Pakistanis are the second-largest population in the UAE, after Indians. Over 230,000 Pakistanis arrived in the UAE in 2023 alone, looking for better work and life possibilities.
