Islamabad, Sep 21: Here at the Élysée Palace, President Emmanuel Macron received a credential presentation from Dr. Zahoor Ahmed, Pakistan’s ambassador to Madrid, Spain, as well as from the country’s ambassador accredited to Andorra.
With two Heads of State (Co-Princes, the President of France and the Bishop of Urgell), Andorra has a unique political structure. According to a news release released on Saturday, ambassadors accredited to Andorra are expected to present their credentials to both of them.
President Macron mentioned the Principality of Andorra’s historic dual head-state structure. He described Andorra as a special nation. Having been to each of Andorra’s seven parishes, he thought the country had plenty to offer. He also mentioned how the nation leads in financial services and mountain tourism.
The ambassador complimented President Macron on the success of the Paris Olympics while he was submitting his credentials. Along with extending the President’s and Prime Minister’s congratulations, he said that he wanted to strengthen ties with Andorra, especially in the areas of financial services, education, multilateral forums, tourism in the mountains, and climate change.In addition to praising the concepts, President Macron underlined the significance of collaboration in the fight against climate change.
