Islamabad, Nov 17: PCB Announces Decision on Pakistan’s New White-Ball Head Coach. Gary Kirsten, Pakistan’s former white-ball head coach, is expected to be replaced, according to a number of media sources.

According to sources, Aqib Javed, a former speedster for Pakistan, will take on a new role with the Pakistan Cricket Team. Aqib will also be named the Men in Green’s new white-ball head coach after being named as one of the national team selectors.

Being credited as the mastermind behind Pakistan’s recent 2-1 Test series victory over England, Aqib has been at the forefront of Pakistani cricket lately. Mohsin Naqvi is eager to hire Aqib to help Pakistan turn around their fortunes in white-ball cricket as well, following their success in red-ball cricket.

Pakistan’s T20 team has been in serious decline, even though they defeated Australia 2-1 in the ODI series, their first series victory in Australia since 2002. Higher-ups at the PCB think Aqib has the potential to turn around the national team’s performance.

Gary Kirsten had previously quit as the white-ball coach due to a disagreement with the PCB. The Selection Committee now makes all of the decisions about the team and starting lineup, reducing Kirsten’s position as head coach to that of a “match day strategist.”

Jason Gillespie, Pakistan’s red-ball “match-day strategist,” had been temporarily assigned to a similar position for the white-ball team during the Australian trip. Aqib is probably going to take over from Pakistan’s limited-overs tour of Zimbabwe.
