ISLAMABAD, JULY20: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has declared that important Pakistani cricket players, such as Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam, have submitted NOC requests for the next Global T20 competition in Canada.

Nonetheless, Asif Ali, Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Amir, and Muhammad Nawaz have received NOCs from the PCB. White-ball cricket is the main sport for these players, with Iftikhar and Nawaz having central contracts. However, the PCB has chosen to reject these proposals due to Pakistan’s hectic cricket schedule from August 2024 to March 2025, which includes nine ICC World Test Championship matches and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The PCB came to the conclusion that the NOCs should be rejected so that the important Pakistani cricket players can concentrate on playing for their country after consulting with the players and the national selection committee. In every format, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, and Babar Azam are important players. With nine Tests, fourteen ODIs, and nine Twenty20 Internationals in the upcoming Pakistani schedule, they are anticipated to be major players.

In order to keep these players in peak physical and mental condition for the season, starting with the two-Test series against Bangladesh, the PCB implemented a workload management program. For the same reasons, the PCB previously turned down Naseem Shah’s plea to take part in The Hundred. The two-match home Test series between Pakistan and Bangladesh will start on August 21 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
