ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 6: The location of the PSL 10 playoffs and championship game presents a difficult challenge for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). At first, England was the front-runner to host these important games.

But franchise owners, who were already concerned about possible expenses, were told that a representative would be sent to England to assess the viability. However, according to recent rumors, England has rejected the offer to host, primarily due to the unavailability of their cricket venues.

Some PCB officials are now suggesting the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a substitute location in light of this setback. But one major barrier to hosting matches there in May is the intense heat.

PSL 10 is scheduled to take place between April 10 and May 25, which is the same period as the Indian Premier League (IPL). Due to this overlap, clubs are worried that important foreign players may choose to play in the IPL rather than the PSL, which could hurt their teams. To exacerbate the franchisees’ worries, they had previously contacted the PCB over profit splits from the ninth edition and other urgent matters, but they have not heard back.

A top PCB official promised the franchise owners over the phone that a meeting of the governing council would be held shortly to discuss their complaints. Pressure to make sure PSL 10 goes well is growing as the PCB tries to find a suitable site and respond to the franchisees’ concerns.
