The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) warned the public to take protective measures to protect themselves from extreme heat wave conditions on Monday as it raised daytime temperatures from May 21–27.
According to the PMD, from May 21 to 27, daytime highs in Islamabad, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan were predicted to stay 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above average.In Sindh and Punjab, daytime highs are predicted to be between 4 and 6 degrees Celsius above average from May 21 to 23, and between 6 and 8 degrees Celsius from May 23 to 27.
The synoptic condition indicated that continental air prevailed across the majority of the nation.Tuesday is predicted to be mostly hot and dry over much of the nation, with extremely hot conditions possible in the central and southern regions.The PMD recommended that people use water sparingly and stay out of the sun whenever possible.
In the susceptible regions of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Northeast Balochistan, the high dryness and hot conditions might start forest fires and brush fires.The majority of the country faced hot, dry weather during the last 24 hours, with extremely high temperatures in the south and center.
However, isolated locations in Gilgit Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had rainstorms.Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Parachinar 8mm, Kalam 2mm, Gilgit Baltistan: Bagrote 04, Gilgit 03, Bunji, Hunza 2mm were the areas with reported rainfall. Sibbi 48C, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Mohenjodharo, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jacobabad 47C, Sakrand, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Jhang, Khanewal, and Larkana 46C were the highest recorded maximum temperatures.
