Islamabad, Aug 24: The Punjab Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has sent an advisory on a fresh round of monsoon rainfall that is predicted to impact different parts of the state beginning on August 25.
According to the PDMA spokesperson, there is a good chance that this rainy spell will last till August 29. This means that many divisions, including Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur, would have heavy rainfall during this time.

Due to heavy downpours predicted in the mountainous areas of Koh-e-Sulaiman and the Kirthar range, the PDMA has issued a warning about possible flash flooding in the divisions of DG Khan, Multan, and Bahawalpur. The representative issued a warning, saying that these circumstances might cause the mountain streams to significantly flood.

District administrations, rescue services, civil defense, and other pertinent departments have been asked to take extra precautions in light of these warnings, especially during the impending Karbala martyrs’ chehlum, by PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia.

Additionally, he cautioned the public against planning activities on shaky rooftops or in run-down buildings that would become much riskier during the intense downpours. The weather in Islamabad is expected to stay hot and muggy during the day, with the risk of rain, gusts, and thunderstorms in the evening, according to the Met Department’s forecast.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, similar weather patterns are anticipated in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Balakot, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Mohmand, Khyber, Bajaur, Malakand, Mardan, Peshawar, and Kohat, among other locations.

Furthermore, the agency has issued rainfall forecasts for a number of Punjabi districts, including Attock, Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Jhelum, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin, Sialkot, and Narowal.

Balochistan’s weather is predicted to stay mostly hot and muggy, with the possibility of rain in a few locations, including Zhob, Barkhan, and the surrounding areas, in the evening or at night.
Hot and muggy weather is also expected in Sindh, with isolated areas in Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Dadu, and Jamshoro, as well as Mithi, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Thatta, Hyderabad, and Sanghar perhaps seeing rain.

It is recommended that authorities in the impacted areas exercise vigilance and implement appropriate measures to mitigate the possible adverse effects of the current weather on the local populace.
