ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 5:  Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) discovered that its Deputy Station Manager in Birmingham’s intermediate certificate is purportedly false, and as a result, PIA issued a show-cause notice to him.

A PIA representative stated that the airline forwarded Deputy Station Manager Javed Iqbal Bajwa’s academic records to the appropriate boards for validation. It was discovered that Bajwa’s intermediate certificate was fake after the verification procedure.

Bajwa has seven days to reply in writing to the notification with supporting documentation about the legitimacy of his certificate. According to the warning, failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.

In a different incident, the PIA provided details on the events leading up to the detention of its country manager in Bahrain on charges of improperly managing traveler baggage. The airline clarified that it does not have an office at Bahrain Airport, which caused misunderstandings over unclaimed baggage processing. The luggage was then handled by the city’s central office.

The spokeswoman underlined that there was no criminal intent at play and blamed the occurrence on the airport’s lack of a designated office. Senior executives have been assigned by the PIA to handle the matter in court while it seeks legal assistance from the Pakistani embassy in Bahrain to resolve the problem.
