Islamabad, Sep 6: Iqbal Javed Bajwa, the deputy station manager for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in Birmingham, is said to have tendered his resignation after the airline was unable to authenticate his educational degree.
The national flag carrier official, Iqbal, the brother of former army chief general (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, was asked to retire higher-ups for providing “fake” educational qualifications.
The (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa, was asked to retire by superiors for providing “fake” school certificates, as reported by Geo News.
According to The News, Iqbal was threatened with termination if he failed to provide proof of his intermediate degree within seven days after he allegedly violated pertinent sections of PIA’s 2019 Employees Disciplinary Policy.
Since Iqbal’s roll number, 25703, was not validated by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore, it was found that his intermediate certificate was a fake.
Iqbal did not pass the Intermediate exams with that roll number or name, the board verified in a letter to the PIA administration.
The warning was sparked by the national airline’s directive in August for staff employees to turn in their paperwork and educational certifications.
