Islamabad, Apr 22, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that Pakistani nationals residing abroad who contribute significantly to the national economy through major investments will be honored with prestigious civil awards.
These recognitions aim to appreciate their loyalty and service as true representatives of Pakistan on the global stage.
Presiding over a top-level session on Monday that addressed concerns related to overseas Pakistanis, the premier emphasized the invaluable role these individuals play.
“Our fellow Pakistanis abroad are acting as unofficial envoys for the country. Their unwavering commitment and services deserve the highest praise,” he stated.
The session saw the participation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Army Chief General Asim Munir, various cabinet members, and top-tier government officials.
Prime Minister Shehbaz highlighted the overwhelming involvement of overseas Pakistanis in the recent convention organized for them, saying it is a strong indicator of their faith in the current administration.
“We deeply admire their patriotism, devotion, and the personal sacrifices they have made for their homeland,” he remarked.
Applauding the achievements of the Pakistani diaspora, PM Shehbaz spotlighted their prominence in global fields like healthcare, academia, engineering, and business consulting. “Through their honesty and dedication, they’ve brought pride and recognition to Pakistan,” he added.
Introducing a new government initiative, the prime minister revealed that overseas citizens who have made a mark in their professional sectors or have remitted the largest sums via the State Bank will be acknowledged with national honors.
He also reiterated the government’s determination to resolve overseas Pakistanis’ problems on an urgent basis.
To further strengthen their bond with Pakistan, new investment ventures will be made available that align with their areas of specialization and expertise.
