ISLAMABAD, JULY20: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated on Saturday that relocating Chinese enterprises to Pakistan will boost exports, generate new job opportunities, and strengthen the country’s economy. Today, he was presiding over a conference in Islamabad to assess the status of the agreements he struck while in China.
The event occurred a few weeks after Prime Minister Shehbaz declared that encouraging investment in Pakistan was his government’s top goal and approved a joint venture agreement between Chinese and Pakistani enterprises about the transfer of Chinese industries to Pakistan.
The premier instructed that there will be no delays in putting the Memorandums of Understanding with China into effect. He stated that China is Pakistan’s longstanding ally, having supported it through every trying period, and that the Chinese government is committed to boosting investment in Pakistan going forward.
A thorough road map for the relocation of Chinese industries to Pakistan was unveiled at the event. It calls for the signing of agreements with Chinese businesses in order to move China’s textile, plastic, leather, medicinal, and surgical equipment sectors to Pakistan.A progress report on the interest of seventy-eight Pakistani companies in working with Chinese companies for this purpose was given by the Board of Investment.
In this regard, the Prime Minister was pleased with the actions and suggestions made by the Board of Investment. He gave the appropriate authorities the order to fully facilitate Pakistani businesses’ cooperation with Chinese businesses.
