ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 12: With the caveat that the proposed station distribution by Pakistan and the Ministry of Overseas does not adhere to the principles of merit and fair play, the Prime Minister has authorized the appointment of 19 officers as Community Welfare Attaches for various foreign countries.
While acknowledging the Establishment division’s observation in paragraph 17 of the summary and acknowledging that the ministry’s proposed station allocations do not adhere to the principles of merit and fair play, the letter states that the PM is pleased to approve the allocation of stations for community welfare attaches in Pakistan’s mission abroad, strictly based on merit cum choice (marks of written tests/interviews and references submitted by the successful candidates on record), disallowing exceptions to applicable policy.
Officer Waqar Ali Khan of the Pakistan Administrative Service was assigned to the Milan, Italy station, while Abdul Latif of the Pakistan Police Service was assigned to the New York station.
Furthermore, the following officers have been assigned stations: IRS officer Osama Idress Doha-1, PMS officer Hamza Naveed Kuala Lumpur, PSP officer Sayed Aziz Riyadh-1, Pakistan Customs officer Salik Mahmood assigned Barcelona, PAS officer Sonia Sadaf Abu Dhabi, and PAS officer Muhammad Khizer Afzaal assigned Athens station.
Moreover, Doha-II, DIS Hamza Tauqir Kuwait, PMS officer Hafiz Abdul Mannan Muscat, Jannat Hussain Nekokara Riyadh-II, PCS officer Azka Zafar Rana Jeddah-I, PCS officer Syed Jalal Haidar Zaidi Pretoria, Zahra Dastgir Tokyo, Zainab Asad Jeddah-II, Aakif Iqbal Jeddah-III, Abdul Haidar Janjua Seoul, and Wasif Rehman have been assigned stations in Pakistan audit and accounts group.
