Islamabad, Nov 7: PM Shehbaz to Visit Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan for Arab Summit and COP29 Next Week. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan to attend the World Leaders Climate Action Summit in Baku and the Second Joint Arab Islamic Summit in Riyadh.

According to Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, the prime minister will travel to Saudi Arabia to attend the World Leaders Climate Action Summit in Baku and the Second Joint Arab Islamic Summit in Riyadh on November 11. The summit is being held at the Saudi government’s initiative.  And will be a follow-up to the Joint Arab Islamic Extraordinary Summit that was held in Riyadh last November 11. To discuss the situation in Gaza and other occupied territories.

She said that the prime minister would reiterate Pakistan’s full support for the Palestinian cause and call for an immediate end to the genocide in Gaza, an urgent and unconditional ceasefire, and an immediate cessation of ongoing Israeli adventurism in the region that endangers the security of countries in the Middle East.

She also said that Pakistan would call for international protection for the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine on the borders of 4 June 1967, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital. OIC member states during the conference. As part of the 29th UN Climate Change Conference. Prime Minister Shehbaz will also go to Baku, Azerbaijan, to attend the World Leaders Climate Action Summit. Which will take place from November 12–13.

The prime minister will make a strong case for climate justice and solidarity based on the well-established principles of equity, as well as shared but distinct responsibilities and capabilities, accompanied by senior officials, other cabinet members, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar.

At the time of COP29, millions of people worldwide including in Pakistan are suffering greatly from the negative effects of climate change. Pakistan will continue to contribute positively to the international climate discussion, talks, and collective action as a significant stakeholder.
