Islamabad, Sep 24: The 79th United Nations General Assembly will convene today, and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif will be present to witness the start of this yearly assembly of world leaders.

In addition to meeting with the participating leaders on the sidelines, the prime minister and a high-level team arrived in New York on Monday evening to attend the annual session of the 193-member UN General Assembly and give speeches at several other events.

The prime minister’s team includes Federal Education and Professional Training Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to PM Tariq Fatemi.

At a reception given by the UN Secretary-General for the dignitaries attending the UNGA session, he will engage in casual conversation with global leaders.Additionally, he is scheduled to meet with Mohamed Muizzu, the president of the Maldives, to talk about how to advance bilateral collaboration.
