Islamabad, Sep 23: In addition to wishing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif a happy birthday, Chinese President Xi Jinping reiterated his support for the development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and advancing strategic cooperation between China and Pakistan in a letter delivered on Monday.
According to a press release from the PM Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz’s 73rd birthday letter from President Xi is an outstanding step toward strengthening the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Xi wished the prime minister well and stated that China and Pakistan had been enjoying a strategic cooperation through good times and bad, one characterized by support and confidence for one another that was unaffected by shifting global conditions.
The Chinese president recalled Prime Minister Shehbaz’s “successful” visit to China in June of this year, during which the two sides came to agreements on a number of issues, and he expressed his deep concern for the development of China-Pakistan relations.
He expressed his desire to collaborate with Prime Minister Shehbaz on the development of the CPEC and the advancement of strategic relations between China and Pakistan. In addition to wishing PM Shehbaz well and much success, President Xi reiterated his resolve to further China-Pakistan cooperation in a number of areas and to strive toward creating the China-Pakistan community of shared destiny in the coming years.
