Islamabad, Aug 2: Chinese nationals will no longer need to pay for visas, according to a statement made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on August 14. This declaration was made in the course of a meeting with Wang Foucong’s 12-member Chinese delegation. Federal ministers Mohsin Naqvi, Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ahsan Cheema, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi were also present at the meeting in addition to Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
Snior officials, including Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong, were also in attendance. Following the Prime Minister’s recent visit to China, a delegation of ten different ministries from China came to investigate potential for partnerships and cooperation in a variety of sectors. Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang were thanked by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who also cordially welcomed the delegation.
During the conversation, the prime minister gave assurances that strong security measures had been put in place to protect Chinese nationals living in Pakistan.
He announced that the perpetrators of the Bisham incident have been found and will deal with the proper repercussions. The prime minister expressed his optimism about the favorable results for both countries and emphasized that the delegation’s visit will increase investment.
The chairman of the Chinese delegation, Wang Foucong, thanked Pakistan for its wonderful hospitality and underlined that technical cooperation will strengthen the strategic partnership between China and Pakistan.
