Islamabad, 11 Apr, 2025: The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) began in spectacular fashion at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

A lively crowd filled the iconic cricket stadium, soaking in the colourful atmosphere of the star-studded event.

The much-awaited PSL opening ceremony opened with children dressed in white and green performing the national anthem.

Franchise owners stood on stage alongside the shining PSL trophy, marking the official start of the much-awaited season.

A soulful tribute to Sufi tradition followed in the ceremony, as legendary singer Abida Parveen took to the stage.

Her powerful performance was accompanied by dancers showcasing traditional moves, leaving the audience mesmerised.

The tempo shifted soon after with a high-energy act by the Young Stunners.

Their fast-paced music and dynamic stage presence lifted the crowd’s energy, setting the tone for the rest of the evening in Rawalpindi.

Popular singer Ali Zafar then took centre stage, performing his hit songs as Pakistan Super League fans joined in chorus.

Zafar was later joined by Natasha Baig and Abrarul Haq to perform the official anthem of PSL 10, adding another wave of excitement to the already buzzing crowd.

Following the glittering show, the tournament kicked off with a clash between defending champions Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars.

The ongoing PSL features six teams competing for a handsome prize of $500,000, while the runners-up will receive $200,000.

Gaddafi Stadium, which has recently undergone renovations, will host 13 matches, including the Qualifier, Eliminator, and the final scheduled for May 18.

Rawalpindi is set to host 11 games, while Multan and Karachi will each stage five matches during the season, as fans across the country look forward.

Stars such as David Warner, Kane Williamson, Daryl Mitchell, Rilee Rossouw, Colin Munro, Rassie van der Dussen, and Kusal Perera are expected to take the field this season.
