Islamabad, 28 Apr, 2025: May 1 for Labour Day is set to be observed nationwide, with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) announcing its closure on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in line with the public holiday declared by the government.

In an official announcement, the Pakistan Stock Exchange confirmed that it will be closed for the day, honoring May 1 for Labour Day.

The notice, shared with investors and shareholders on Friday, reminded all concerned parties about the closure.

This holiday aligns with the federal government’s recognition of Labour Day as an important observance, reinforcing the significance of workers’ rights and their contribution to the nation’s economy.

The provincial government of Punjab also declared Thursday, May 1, a public holiday. Consequently, government offices, hospitals, and educational institutions across the province will remain shut for the day.

At the national level, the federal government has officially designated May 1 for Labour Day as a public holiday, ensuring that all key government services and departments observe the day.

This decision follows an earlier notification from the Cabinet Division.
