Islamabad, Oct 23: PTA Receives Over 17,000 Complaints Against Telecom Operators in September 2024. In September 2024, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) received 17,324 complaints from telecom users against various telecom and cellular companies; 17,151 (99 percent) of these complaints were settled.

According to official data, complaints were filed in September against a number of telecom operators, including internet service providers (ISPs), long-distance international (LDI) operators, wireless local loop (WLL) operators, cellular mobile operators (CMOs), and Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).

A significant portion of all telecom consumers are cellular mobile users. Thus, this category has the highest amount of complaints. By September, there had been 16726 complaints against CMOs overall, of which 16571 (99.1%) had been resolved.

The PTA data shows that 6,487 (99.7%) of the 6,506 complaints that were filed against Jazz were settled. Additionally, 3,705 (98.1%) of the 3,778 complaints that were filed against Telenor were settled. Similarly, 4,331 (99.2%) of the 4,365 complaints that were filed against Zong were resolved. Out of the 2,051 complaints that were filed against Ufone, 2,024 (98.7%) were settled.

Additionally, 154 complaints against basic telephony were received by the PTA; 145 of these were resolved in August, yielding a 94.2 percent resolution rate. In addition, 424 (97.9%) of the 433 complaints that were filed against ISPs were resolved.
