Islamabad, Sep 3: Five foreign businesses have submitted technical bids for 5G consultancy services in Pakistan , marking a crucial step towards the launch of 5G services in Pakistan through the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

The action is a component of the PTA’s initiatives to improve the nation’s Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS) user experience.

Aetha Consulting Limited, Detecon Consulting FZ-LLC, Frontier Economics Limited, KomKonsult (Private) Limited, and National Economic Research Associates Inc. are the five businesses that have put in technical bids for 5G consultancy services in Pakistan. The PTA will now assess the technical bids and request financial bids from the businesses that made the short list.

Following an assessment of the technical and economic proposals, the PTA will choose a consulting company to write a report regarding the introduction of 5G services in Pakistan. As per the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) guidelines, the technical and financial bids will be evaluated in compliance with the PTA.

The report, which will be created after stakeholder input, will be the foundation for the introduction of 5G in the nation. The Government of Pakistan has set a target date of April 2025 for the PTA to introduce 5G services in Pakistan. The introduction of 5G is anticipated to benefit the nation greatly, offering more economic prospects, enhanced connection, and higher data speeds.
