Islamabad, Sep 21; The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is set to hold a significant rally today (Saturday) in Lahore’s Kahna, under strict conditions imposed by the Lahore district administration. This is the second major event organized by the party this month. Preparations are in full swing, with equipment being set up and PTI members arriving at the venue.

The rally follows a No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the provincial deputy commissioner on Friday, in line with Lahore High Court instructions. PTI has been attempting to hold rallies nationwide, but authorities have repeatedly blocked them, citing security concerns.

Despite these challenges, PTI managed to hold a rally on September 8 in Sangjani, Islamabad, though it was followed by a crackdown on leaders for allegedly breaching the terms of the NOC and the “Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Bill, 2024.”

Today’s rally, expected to be a crucial moment for PTI, is subject to 43 conditions, including a strict time limit from 3 pm to 6 pm and a ban on anti-state slogans. Additionally, individuals under trial for hate speech are barred from attending, and an apology has been demanded from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for his remarks made during the September 8 event.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has termed this rally a “do-or-die” moment, urging the public to “come out for their future.” PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has requested the administration not to create obstacles that would delay participants from reaching the venue.
