Islamabad, Dec 4: In a major move toward improving youth education, Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab Maryam Nawaz launched the “Honhaar Scholarship Program” on Wednesday. Scholarship checks were distributed to students as part of the inauguration ceremony at Punjab University, which also marked the establishment of an e-portal for easy program access.
With an estimated worth of Rs. 130 billion, the Honhaar Scholarship Program seeks to assist 30,000 students a year. The importance of the program was emphasized by Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, who said it will assist thousands of young people in realizing their academic goals.
Details show that more than 68,000 students from 12 medical schools, 359 colleges, and 65 universities have already applied for the award. As part of the program, Undergraduate students enrolled in four to five-year degree programs will have their entire tuition paid.
The program is intended for Punjabi citizens under 22 who earn less than Rs. 300,000 annually as a family. The government’s commitment to preventing financial limitations from deterring gifted students from pursuing higher education is demonstrated by this project.
The recently developed e-portal will further streamline the process by giving students easier access to updates and scholarship payments. It is anticipated that the Honhaar Scholarship Program will significantly contribute to Punjab’s youth empowerment and promotion of academic success.
