Islamabad, Nov 27: Punjab Government Announces Interest-Free Loans for Livestock Farmers. Dr. Muhammad Tanveer Kalyar, Deputy Director (DD) Livestock and Dairy Development Sargodha, announced on Wednesday that the Punjab government had chosen to provide interest-free loans to livestock producers up to Rs. 270,000, for which Rs. 11 billion had been set aside.
In an interview with APP, he stated that cattle owners with five to ten male calves, a valid CNIC card, and a mobile phone SIM card registered and active in their names would be eligible for an interest-free loan of Rs. 135,000 to Rs. 270,000 for four months.
Under the livestock card initiative, he said, facility desks had been set up in all livestock hospitals to take applications, and farmers were being assisted by trained staff in submitting applications via the app.
He explained that by entering the PLC (space) ID card number in a text message and submitting it to 8070, users could also apply via the app. He stated that the closest animal hospital or department can be reached at 080009211 for additional information.
