Islamabad, Oct 9: Punjab Health Department confirms dengue cases

The Punjab Health Authority reported 143 additional dengue cases on Wednesday, with Rawalpindi seeing the largest increase, recording 131 cases.

Lahore had two cases, while Attock logged four and Gujranwala three. One case each was noted in Faisalabad, Sialkot, and Sahiwal.

Over the last seven days, 902 new dengue cases have emerged, bringing the 2024 total in Punjab to 2,867. A representative of the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Authority assured the public that all necessary steps and measures are being taken to address the outbreak.

Public hospitals throughout the region are well-equipped with the essential medicines and treatments for dengue cases.

The Health Authority has issued guidance urging residents to keep their surroundings clean and dry to limit mosquito breeding and reduce the virus’s spread.
