Govt Distributes Free Plots to Deserving Citizens
The Game-Changing Housing Initiative aims to uplift thousands of low-income families through equitable access to land and homeownership.
In a separate public address in Lahore, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized her government’s unwavering commitment to social welfare.
She proudly stated that more than 30,000 homes have already been completed under the Apna Ghar scheme.
Going forward, those without any land ownership will receive Free Plots for Deserving Families, with no cost whatsoever, to support their right to dignified shelter.
PHATA’s strategic agenda doesn’t stop at housing distribution. The agency has outlined several key reforms aimed at improving transparency and operational efficiency.
One major decision taken during the session includes recovering financial compensation from regularized properties and retrieving illegally occupied lands under PHATA’s jurisdiction.
These steps are designed to ensure land resources are utilized fairly and lawfully. Furthermore, the agency is set to accelerate digital transformation, launching enhanced systems like E-FoS (Electronic File Operating System) and PLAS (Property Land Allocation System).
These digital platforms will simplify processes, reduce paperwork, and make data handling more efficient for both administrators and applicants.
To bolster affordability and scalability, PHATA will also collaborate with private real estate developers on budget-friendly housing projects.
Regulatory modifications have been approved to streamline this public-private partnership model, aiming to deliver quality homes without delays.
