ISLAMABAD, JULY22: The introduction of foreign language courses, including Korean, Japanese, German, Chinese, and Arabic, in Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) institutes was approved on Sunday by Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz. In her role as chair of the TEVTA Mapping Plan finalization conference, the chief minister emphasized the value of cutting-edge technical training programs in promoting economic growth and lowering unemployment.
Maryam Nawaz highlighted the need for TEVTA institutes to teach advanced courses in market-driven trades. According to the CM, professional training in food processing, biomedical technology, light engineering, renewable energy, building, textiles, apparel, tourism, hospitality, information communication technology, vehicle assembly and repair, and surgical instruments must all be included in the new courses.
She gave the go-ahead for the government to collaborate with top businesses to fund job placement, apprenticeship, and internship initiatives.She also oversaw the TEVTA institutions’ implementation of foreign language courses in Korean, Japanese, German, Chinese, and Arabic.
In order to promote skilled jobs in the global market, CM Maryam approved a plan to establish the Punjab Overseas Employment Promotion Authority. She also oversaw the outsourcing of the “Heavy Machinery Driving/Operator Course” in association with major construction developers.In addition to cutting-edge welding and construction course labs in Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Multan, Attock, Taxila, Layyah, and Mianwali, the CM sanctioned the establishment of 45 welding workshops spread over nine towns.
In addition, she approved a plan to hire 1,000 people in order to alleviate TEVTA’s staffing deficit and gave the go-ahead to raise the monthly budget to Rs 2,000 per student for the purchase of training materials for in-person instruction.She also gave the appropriate authorities instructions to release guidelines to guarantee the instructors’ biometric attendance.
