Islamabad, 28 Apr, 2025: The Punjab provincial government has granted approval for the acquisition of five high-end new jammer vehicles, aimed at enhancing the security and safe movement of VIPs.

The decision follows a formal approval from the provincial cabinet, which also initiated the tendering process for their procurement.

Allocation of Funds and Vehicle Details

As per the official release, a total of Rs. 467.2 million has been allocated for the purchase of five new jammer vehicles, which include imported Land Cruisers and Prados.

Of this sum, Rs. 240 million has been earmarked for the acquisition of two Land Cruisers, while Rs. 227 million is designated for the procurement of three Land Cruiser Prados.

The government has called on companies to submit their bids for the purchase of these vehicles, with the submission deadline set for today. All bids will be evaluated under the government’s prescribed guidelines and regulations.

Bid Submission Process and Oversight

The bid opening process will take place on the same day, following the submission of the required bid security.

The entire procurement process will be managed under the supervision of the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Procurement, ensuring transparency and compliance with established procedures.

Timeline for Delivery and Equipment Installation

Once the procurement process is completed within the ongoing fiscal year, the selected vehicles will undergo the installation of advanced jammer systems.

Following this, the vehicles will be handed over to the Special Branch for use in securing VIP movements.
