Islamabad, Feb 13: In a significant move to enhance the safety and security of female students, the Punjab government has decided to replace male professors and teachers at women’s universities across the province. This decision is part of a broader effort to create a more secure learning environment, where female students can pursue their education without fear of harassment.
Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, in a recent media address, underscored the importance of implementing strict measures to prevent harassment within educational institutions. He emphasized that any individual found guilty of such misconduct would face severe consequences, reinforcing the government’s commitment to addressing this critical issue.

In addition to the staff changes, the examination system will undergo a restructuring aimed at eliminating any form of blackmail or exploitation directed at female students. The governor made it clear that all universities in the province have been instructed to implement the updated system promptly, with no delays allowed. This includes the introduction of a new evaluation system for vice-chancellors and professors. Their future rewards, promotions, or penalties will now be determined based on their performance assessments, which will prioritize their commitment to fostering a respectful and safe environment for students.
