Islamabad, Mar 29, 2025: Under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab’s Air Ambulance Service has successfully transferred 100 critically ill patients from remote areas to hospitals, said Provincial Minister for Health and Emergency Services Khawaja Salman Rafique.

He highlighted that the Air Ambulance Service is Pakistan’s first of its kind in Punjab, aimed at ensuring immediate access to advanced medical facilities for patients in far-flung areas.

“So far, 57 patients from Bahawalnagar, 36 from Mianwali, two from Rahim Yar Khan, and five from other cities have been transported,” he stated, emphasizing that the service is making healthcare more accessible for the public.

Terming it a revolutionary step by the Punjab government, he said the air ambulance service has the capability to provide immediate medical aid and transport patients swiftly.

He also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to continuous improvements in healthcare facilities.

Additionally, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of airports in Bhakkar and Bahawalnagar, which will further enhance the efficiency of the air ambulance service.

Khawaja Salman Rafique also praised the efforts of Secretary Emergency Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer for the success of the initiative.
