Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has requested the monthly schedule for the five-year education reform plan, as reported on Wednesday.
Presiding over a special meeting on school education reforms, the Chief Minister focused on reviewing the Public School Reorganization Programme.
During the session, the Secretary of School Education provided updates on the School New Trash Project.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz gave approval for providing 32,298 computer tablets to primary school heads.
The meeting also reached an agreement to establish STEM IT and Science Labs in 1,000 elementary schools. It was briefed that the Asian Development Bank will provide financial assistance of $100 million for setting up STEM labs.
Additionally, the meeting approved an agreement for Google certification of 300,000 children from government schools.
Under the Digital Journey for Tech Valley project, students will have opportunities for Google certification.
Suggestions and recommendations for establishing the Punjab Education Curriculum and Training were discussed in the meeting.
It was highlighted that over 92 percent of free books have been distributed.
Maryam Nawaz stressed the need to enhance the quality of education in government schools.
Senator Parvez Rasheed, Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for School Education Ranasikander Hayat, MPA Sania Ashiq, Chief Secretary, Secretary of Education, Secretary of Finance, MD of Punjab Curriculum and Test Book Board, MD of Punjab Education Foundation, CEO of Participation of Punjab Education Initiative Management Authority, MD of Punjab Education Sector Reforms Program, and other relevant authorities attended the meeting.
