Islamabad, Sep 21: People from all over Pakistan and the world came together to commemorate the 13th anniversary of the great qawwal Maqbool Ahmed Sabri’s passing. They also celebrated the music icon’s enduring influence on countless generations of music lovers.

According to a private news channel, Maqbool Ahmed Sabri first learned music from his father, Ustad Inayat Hussain Sabri, and his older brother, Ghulam Farid Sabri. Along with his brother Ghulam Farid Sabri, he began Qawwali in the 1970s and became well-known in the genre.

Among their most well-known Qawwalis are “Taajdar-e-Haram” and “Bhardo Jholi Meri Ya Muhammad.” He received the Pride of Performance award. On this day in 2011, in South Africa, Maqbool Sabri passed away.
