Islamabad, Apr 30, 2026: A significant change in weather is expected from May 1 to May 4, bringing a sigh of relief from the ongoing heatwave.

According to the latest forecast, dust storms, thunderstorms, rainfall, and even hailstorms are likely in several parts of northern, central, and southwestern Pakistan.

From May 1 to May 4, rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is predicted in areas including Kashmir, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sheikhupura, Narowal, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Kurram, Bajaur, Makran, and Khuzdar. Some regions may also experience hailstorms, especially during intense cloud development.

Meanwhile, from May 2 to May 5, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Barkhan, Loralai, and Musakhel may experience dusty winds and scattered rain, with isolated chances of hailstorm activity.

This sudden shift in weather is expected to ease the prevailing heatwave, bringing temporary relief to residents.

However, authorities warn that heavy rainfall may damage weak infrastructure, including rooftops, trees, and parked vehicles. Citizens are advised to remain cautious during severe weather.

Farmers are specifically urged to adjust harvesting and crop storage plans, especially for wheat and other rabi crops, to avoid potential weather damage.
