Islamabad, Sep 2: The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police has opened a one-window facility specifically for the benefit of motorcycle riders. The 42-day waiting period that was previously necessary to convert from a learning permit to a permanent driver’s license is eliminated by this effort.

The Additional Inspector General of Police Traffic Punjab issued an order calling for a crackdown on unlicensed motorcycle riders and the adoption of more effective licensing procedures, which is why this one-window operation was decided to be implemented.

As long as they bring their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC), motorcycle riders can now obtain their driving licenses on the same day they apply under the new method. It is anticipated that this modification will drastically lower the amount of unauthorized riders on the road. Beenish Fatima, Chief Traffic Officer, highlighted the new procedure’s ease of use and effectiveness by saying, “Bring your CNIC with you and get the motorcycle driving license the same day.”

Even though it was a Sunday, a lot of motorcycle riders showed up at the Rawalpindi City Traffic Police Headquarters’ licensing branch to take advantage of the new facility. The public’s desire for a quicker and more easily accessible licensing process is highlighted by the overwhelming demand. A distinct facilitation desk has been set up at the center to provide additional assistance to applicants, guaranteeing that the procedure runs smoothly and effectively for every visitor.

The project also tackles more general safety issues, since a large portion of motorcycle riders have been operating without permits and ignoring crucial safety precautions like donning helmets. The City Traffic Police hopes to promote responsible driving habits and raise general road safety by providing easier access to licenses.
