Overseas Pakistanis’ remittances through the Roshan Digital Account have surged past the $8 billion mark, according to a recent SBP report. Launched in mid-2020, the initiative has attracted over 700,000 account holders, showcasing growing confidence and engagement from the diaspora in Pakistan’s financial landscape. In April alone, $17.10 billion was remitted through the Roshan Digital Account, marking a 6% decrease from March. However, despite the decline, the total number of accounts reached 689,650 by the end of April, with nearly 10,000 new accounts added during the month. Since its inception, the RDA has received $1.58 billion in remittances, with $4.92 billion utilized locally. This underscores the significance of the Roshan Digital Account in facilitating remittances and investments from overseas Pakistanis.
