Islamabad, Feb 25: The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) continued its decline against the US Dollar (USD) for the third consecutive day, closing at 279.67 in the interbank market. The PKR opened at 280 and remained within the 279-280/$ range throughout the day.
Despite losing one paisa against the USD, the rupee strengthened against most other major currencies. It appreciated by:
- 75 paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD)
- 29 paisas against the Euro (EUR)
- 46 paisas against the British Pound (GBP)
- 72 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD)
However, it remained stable but closed slightly lower against the UAE Dirham (AED) and Saudi Riyal (SAR).
On a fiscal year-to-date basis, the rupee has depreciated 0.47% against the USD.
