Islamabad, Sep 13: Rupee Gains for Fourth Day After IMF News

It closed the green against the greenback after remaining steady all day. During today’s session, it recorded losses compared to the majority of the other major currencies.

The interbank rate closed at 278/$, where it had spent the majority of the day. Today’s open market rates were rigidly set at the 278 level across a number of currency exchanges.

The Pakistani rupee gained 27 paisas versus the US dollar today, and it appreciated by 0.10 percent to settle at 278.1.

Thus far this fiscal year, the rupee has lost 0.07 percent of its value.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Thursday that its Executive Board will convene on September 25 to deliberate on the $7 billion Extension Fund Facility (EFF) for Pakistan, marking a significant milestone.

Meanwhile, it lost Rs. 1.21 against the Australian Dollar (AUD), Rs. 2.05 against the Euro (EUR), and Rs. 2.83 against the British Pound (GBP) in today’s interbank currency market.
