Islamabad, JULY25:  The interbank market saw the Pakistani rupee (PKR) open at 278 today, although it later gained ground versus the US dollar.

It closed the green versus the greenback after being steady all day. During today’s session, it recorded gains versus the majority of the other major currencies.

Before closing at the same level, the interbank rate spent most of the day at 278/$. Today’s open market rates were rigidly set at 278 across many currency counters.

The PKR gained nine paisas versus the dollar today, strengthening by 0.03 percent to settle at 278.4.
Thus far this fiscal year, the rupee has lost 0.02 percent of its value.

Since January 2023, the rupee has decreased overall by over Rs. 51.50. It has decreased by Rs. 95.50 versus the US dollar from April 2022. The PKR increased by nine paisas today based on the changes in currency rates that were observed throughout the session.

Against the majority of the other major currencies in the interbank market today, the PKR was up.
In relation to the UAE Dirham (AED), it increased by two paisas, the Saudi Riyal (SAR) by three paisas, the Canadian Dollar (CAD) by 48 paisas, and the Australian Dollar (AUD) by Rs. 1.81.
