Islamabad, Feb 28: Samsung has expanded its M-series portfolio with the launch of the Galaxy M06 5G and Galaxy M16 5G in India. These models are essentially rebranded versions of the Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy F06 5G, featuring slight design modifications while maintaining the same core specifications. Targeting budget-conscious users, these smartphones provide 5G connectivity, long-term software support, and solid everyday performance at an affordable price.

Design & Display

The Galaxy M16 5G boasts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals and vibrant colors. In contrast, the Galaxy M06 5G features a 6.74-inch LCD, offering decent brightness but at a more budget-friendly price point. Samsung has refined the design of the M16, introducing a sleek, unified camera module, distinguishing it from previous models that featured separate camera rings.

Color options for the M16 5G include Blush Pink, Mint Green, and Thunder Black, while the M06 5G is available in Sage Green and Blazing Black.

Performance & Software

Both devices run on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, providing a balance of efficiency and performance. The Galaxy M16 5G comes with One UI 7 based on Android 15 and is backed by Samsung’s promise of six years of OS and security updates, making it a long-term investment. The Galaxy M06 5G, on the other hand, runs on One UI Core 7.0, a lighter version of Samsung’s interface, with four years of OS and security updates.

Camera Setup

The Galaxy M16 5G features a triple-camera system, including a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. The Galaxy M06 5G also includes a 50MP primary camera but may have a simplified camera setup. Both devices come with front-facing cameras optimized for selfies and video calls, with the M16 offering a higher-resolution 13MP sensor compared to the M06’s 8MP camera.

Battery & Pricing

A 5,000mAh battery powers both smartphones, with support for 25W fast charging, ensuring all-day usability. The M16 5G offers better multitasking and gaming performance thanks to its expanded RAM options and optimized software.

The Galaxy M16 5G starts at INR 11,499 ($132), with sales beginning on March 5. Meanwhile, the Galaxy M06 5G is priced at INR 9,499 ($109) and will be available from March 7. These devices cater to budget users seeking 5G connectivity with reliable performance and long-term software support.
