Islamabad, Dec 3: According to a recent Korean story, Samsung will present its eagerly anticipated XR (Extended Reality) glasses in prototype form at the Galaxy S25 launch event in January 2025.

But it won’t be possible to buy these spectacles right away. Like the Galaxy Ring preview at Unpacked earlier this year, the firm will present them in a teaser style, most likely through a picture or video.

Although they won’t be available for purchase during the event, industry sources indicate that the finished XR glasses could be released in the third quarter of 2025, most likely between July and September. This suggests that Samsung is employing a similar tactic to its previous product debuts, in which teasers are used to generate excitement before to a full unveiling.

It is anticipated that the glasses will only weigh 50g and look like a typical pair of spectacles. A payment functionality, AI integration, facial recognition (presumably for payments), and gesture control for UI navigation are just a few of the clever features that will be included.

The XR glasses, which have been in development since February 2023 in partnership with Google and Qualcomm, are probably going to be a component of Samsung’s larger foray into augmented and virtual reality.

In addition to revealing the smart glasses before the end of this month, the company plans to unveil its XR software platform. Samsung hopes to further extend its ecosystem into the realm of XR technology with this advancement.
