At this year’s InfoComm expo in Las Vegas, Samsung introduced a new type of TV that is still in development but could hit the market soon. This TV utilizes a unique screen technology called color e-ink, akin to what you find on e-readers.

Primarily designed for showcasing advertisements or announcements in various settings like offices, stores, and even outdoors, the technology boasts impressive features. The screen, measuring 32 inches wide, offers 2K resolution and can exhibit up to 60,000 colors. Despite its size, the TV is remarkably thin and lightweight, weighing just 2.9 kg without the battery and measuring 17.9 mm thick.

An essential aspect is its minimal power consumption when displaying static images, requiring power only when the screen content changes.

The TV has the capability to showcase content from its 8 GB built-in storage or connect wirelessly via Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cables. It features two USB C ports, one for charging and the other for data transfer, and can be easily wall-mounted. Samsung intends to release a dedicated app for users to manage the displayed content. While there’s no official launch date yet for Samsung’s new Color E-Paper TV, pricing and availability details are expected to follow its official release.
