Islamabad, Apr 21, 2025: In a landmark move to deepen bilateral cooperation, Pakistan has officially allowed visa-free entry for Saudi citizens, boosting prospects for stronger ties and encouraging Saudi citizens to visit Pakistan.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced the decision during his recent visit to the Saudi Embassy in Islamabad, where he met with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Ahmed Al-Maliki.

The talks focused on advancing strategic relations across security, trade, and humanitarian sectors.

This major step is expected to increase travel, investment, and cultural exchange, and it will mark a new era in Pakistan-Saudi relations.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Al-Maliki emphasized, “Saudi Arabia and Pakistan share a deep-rooted friendship that we intend to strengthen even further.” Minister Naqvi appreciated Saudi support in Pakistan’s development and highlighted the importance of trust and collaboration.

With the new visa policy in place, more Saudi Citizens will visit Pakistan, especially investors, tourists, and business professionals eager to explore the country’s expanding opportunities in tourism, real estate, and commerce.

This initiative aligns with Pakistan’s goal of positioning itself as a welcoming hub for Gulf nations and beyond.

Another vital aspect of the meeting was cooperation in combating cross-border crimes. Both nations agreed to enhance efforts against drug trafficking and human smuggling.

Naqvi announced that Pakistan is tightening passport controls and taking strong actions against illegal immigration networks.

“The crackdown on the beggar mafia is ongoing, and illegal migration through fake documents is being stopped,” he said.

Minister Naqvi also thanked the Saudi government wholeheartedly for swiftly helping return five Pakistani family members detained abroad.

This humanitarian gesture reflects the active and growing partnership between the two countries.

The Saudi Embassy described the dialogue as cordial and productive, highlighting the consistent high-level engagement between Islamabad and Riyadh.
