Islamabad, Oct 7: Saudi Investment Minister Set to Visit Pakistan This Week. In an effort to improve economic cooperation, Pakistan will host a high-level delegation led by Saudi Arabia’s Investment Minister Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih from October 9–11, 2024.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will receive the group. These talks are anticipated to include participation from representatives of the business sector and Saudi government entities.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman promised earlier this year to expedite a $5 billion investment package for Pakistan. It is important to note that Pakistan anticipates receiving $27 billion in investments over the next five years from Gulf nations. The United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia have already received project specifics from the federal government.

Over the course of the next five years, these investments are anticipated to come from both private and sovereign wealth funds. The minister’s visit aims to discuss various investment projects and explore sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, and agriculture, which hold significant potential for collaboration.

During his visit, the Saudi Investment Minister is expected to meet with high-ranking Pakistani officials, including the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, and other key stakeholders. These discussions will focus on facilitating Saudi investments in Pakistan and addressing any barriers to entry.

This visit is part of a broader initiative to enhance economic ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, which have historically enjoyed strong diplomatic relations. Both countries are keen to boost trade and investment to foster economic growth.

The visit is anticipated to open new avenues for Pakistani businesses, providing them with access to Saudi investment and technology. This could lead to job creation and economic development in various sectors.
