Islamabad, Mar 26, 2025: The Saudi Riyal (SAR) maintained its upward trajectory against the Pakistani Rupee (PKR) in the open market, reaching Rs74.75.

The selling rate also experienced an increase, now standing at Rs75.15.

The Saudi Riyal serves as the national currency of Saudi Arabia, denoted by SAR or SR, and is further divided into 100 halalas.

Currency exchange refers to the process of converting one monetary unit into another, such as exchanging Pakistani Rupees for US Dollars, UAE Dirhams, or other widely used currencies.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their dedication to strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in defence and security.

This pledge was reiterated in a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.

Accompanying the Prime Minister were key officials, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

The discussions primarily revolved around enhancing strategic, economic, and defence cooperation between both nations.

Meanwhile, Pakistanis residing in Saudi Arabia continue to be the leading contributors to remittances, transferring a total of $744.4 million in February 2025.

This represents a 2.21% increase compared to January 2025 and a substantial 37.88% rise compared to February 2024.

With the SAR gaining strength against PKR, the impact on remittances, trade, and economic collaboration between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia remains significant.

Financial experts suggest closely monitoring exchange rate fluctuations to make informed currency exchange decisions.
